## What animation features does Kidz Fun Art have?

- **Animation Frames**: Create animations by adding frames. Each frame displays the faded out version of the previous frame, so you can see how your animation will look as you create it.

## What sketching features does Kidz Fun Art have?

For simply drawing with colours, Kidz Fun Art starts little artists off with a simple marker tool,
but it also provides many different brushes and tools that are easy for kids to sketch with. Some examples of the sketching tools available are:

Of course, there's more to making art than just sketching with a pen or pencil!
When your little artist is ready add some bling to their drawings, there's a lot

- **Solid Fill**: Fill in large areas with a solid colour, one tap and you're done!
- **Gradient Fill**: Fill in large areas with a gradient. You can even design yourown gradients with the gradient editor, and choose the direction of the gradient.
- **Stars**: Fill in areas with pretty stars, or draw stars anywhere you like.
- **Sand**: With it's unique physics engine, drop sand of any colour, or a range of colours, anywhere you like. The app uses physics to make the sand fall and settle around your drawing, creating a really unique effect.
- **Water Balloon**: Another fun physics tool that allows you to throw water balloons at your drawing, creating a splash effect. You can even choose the colour of the water.
- **Bubbles**: Blow bubbles of any colour, or a range of colours, anywhere you like. The bubbles all push against each other, and you can pop them to create a really unique effect.
- **Mirror**: A tool that allows you to create symmetrical drawings by mirroring your strokes across a line or point. You can move the mirror line around and make it horizontal or vertical.

Kidz Fun Art is a free art app optimized for use on a tablet or computer. It works great with Wacom tablets, iPads, Apple Pencils, Microsoft Surface, Android tablets and more!

To get started, simply download the app from

- [Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kidz-fun-art/id6443621939), iPad only.

Welcome to Kidz Fun Art


Every kid has a story to tell, and Kidz Fun Art makes it easy to tell it as a comic book! With the Comics tool you can build a comic page panel by panel, draw a scene in each one, then zoom out to see the whole story come together.

## Starting a new comic

Open the image menu and choose the **Comics** tab, then tap to start a brand new comic. You'll get a blank page that's ready for your first panel.

## Adding panels

A comic is made of panels, and you get to decide how each row looks. Press the add-panel button <InlineImage src="/images/controls/comic_plus.png" alt="Add panel" height="32" width="32" /> to open the choices, then pick the shape you want:

- **One large panel** for a big, dramatic moment
- **Two tall panels** side by side
- **One wide panel** that stretches across the page
- **Two small panels** for quick back-and-forth action

Keep adding rows and your page grows as long as your story needs.

## Drawing in your panels

Tap a panel to zoom in, then draw inside it with all the usual Kidz Fun Art tools — pens, stickers, fill, shapes and more. When you're done, press the zoom-out button <InlineImage src="/images/controls/zoomout.png" alt="Zoom out" height="32" width="32" /> to step back and see the whole page.

## Rearranging your story

Changed your mind about the order? Switch to edit mode with the edit button <InlineImage src="/images/controls/move.png" alt="Edit panels" height="32" width="32" /> and you can rearrange your story.

Use the arrow buttons to nudge a panel up, down, left or right, and the trash button <InlineImage src="/images/dialog/trashcan.png" alt="Delete panel" height="28" width="28" /> to delete a panel you no longer need.

## Share your masterpiece

When your comic is finished it saves automatically, so you can come back and add more pages any time. You can also export it as an image to print out or share with family and friends.

Make Your Own Comic Books


Kidz Fun Art has a quick and easy way to add pretty patterns to your image, and it's with the classic child's toy, a Spirograph!

## See how it's done

A Spirograph is a circle with holes in it. You stick a pen through one of the holes and move it around inside another circle, drawing a different pattern depending on

- the hole you choose
- the size of the inner circle
- the size of the outer circle

To begin, choose the tool from the Pen menu on the right side

This will place a Spirograph on top of your drawing, like below.

Place your pen/mouse/finger on one of the holes in the inner circle and move it in a circular motion.
You'll see the inner circle move around the outer circle, drawing the colour you chose along the path
that the hole follows.

## Moving and Resizing

To create even more varied patterns, you can move and change the size of both the outer circle and the inner circle.

To move the whole Spirograph around, press the <InlineImage src="/images/controls/move_arrows.png" alt="Move" height="32" width="32" /> button on the bottom left and move it wherever you want, like in the animation below. To move the inner circle to a place inside the outer circle, press the arrow icon on the top left of that circle, and move it to wherever you like.

To resize either the outer circle or the inner circle, you can press the <InlineImage src="/images/controls/resize_arrows.png" alt="Resize" height="32" width="32" /> button next to it and move your pen/finger/mouse to change the size, as in the animation below.

Spirographs make cool patterns


Kidz Fun Art has a simple to use Pixel Art brush that lets you draw with multiple different sizes of pixels.

# How do I use it?

Simply choose the Pixel Art icon <InlineImage src="/images/controls/pixel.png" alt="Pixel Art brush" height="40" width="40" /> and start drawing! you'll notice that a light grey grid is drawn on top of the image to guide your pixel placement, and it changes the size of each square depending on the pixel size you choose using the brush size selector on the top right.

Of course it works with all colours, including the awesome rainbow gradients.

Now go make some fun nostalgic 8-bit pictures!


Pixel Art is Cute


Kidz Fun Art lets you create real mini-masterpieces with its realistic paint brushes. Mix your colours and use different brush sizes to create beautiful paintings. It works even better if you have a pressure sensitive pen like the Apple Pencil!

## How do I paint?

Simply choose the paint brush icon <InlineImage src="/images/controls/paint_brush.png" alt="Paint brush" height="40" width="40" /> and start painting!! You'll notice that, just like a real paint brush, the paint fades out the longer your stroke lasts. Also, new paint mixes with existing paint to create new colours, with each individual bristle having its own unique colour as you mix.

## Using a digital pen

When you use a digital pen with a tablet, for example the Apple Pencil, you can get even more fine grained control as it supports pressure sensitivity. The harder you press, the more paint you put down on the canvas, just like in real life.

## Wet and dry paint

Some times you don't want the paint to mix, you just want to simulate painting over paint that has already dried.  No problem!  There is a little popup control that shows up when you use the paint brush that lets you toggle between wet and dry paint.
